Weddings always make me a little giddy.
But southern weddings send me above and beyond!
Jackie and Erik’s special day is one I’d been looking forward to for months.
Anyone who’s lived in Alabama for any length of time can tell you rain in April is as common as getting dressed for work in the morning. Days leading up to the I was pleased to find out Mother Nature was feeling quite gracious.
When I arrived to the staging location I was welcomed by a group of smiles and brunch. (Who doesn’t love brunch?! (am I right?)
Makeup was eloquently provided by a family friend, and MAC cosmetic extraordinaire.
Her updo was pinned and styled by our friends over at the BloDry bar of Homewood.
After scarfing down a few snacks provided by family and friends, we were off to our next adventure at Mathews Manor. A fantastic venue with plenty of space indoor and outdoor, located just a few miles shy of Birmingham, in Springville, AL.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve visited my fair share of venues across the state, but none can compare to the southern chic motif provided by our friends at Mathews Manor. The grounds were pristine, the atmosphere was serene, and the view was downright breathtaking!
(Bridge shots anyone?)
As the sun began to set, you could truly see and feel the beauty bestowed by nature’s beauty and of course the happy couple.
After the cake was cut, and the toasts, it was time to cut a rug!
The sparkler exit was the perfect way to wind down.
Thank you Erik and Jacalyn for allowing Gray Manor Photography the chance to capture your wedding.
